Helping Athletes Meet their Full Potential
The Cheer Institute Staff are passionate about helping athletes reach their full potential, especially those athletes who may not have access to the resources necessary to be successful in the sport. Growing up and throughout her entire career, Erika rarely saw other cheerleaders who looked like her — not due to lack of talent, but rather lack of exposure and resources.
TCI Cares is a gym initiative backed by Legacies United Foundation to help those cheer and tumble athletes who may not be able to afford the fees and costs that often accompany recreational training or competitive cheerleading. Through fundraising partnerships with Columbus organizations such as Nationwide Arena, The Ohio State University, and the Columbus Crew, TCI parents can volunteer at various events to earn credit to apply to their accounts.
TCI Cares’ partnership with Columbus Parks and Recreation allows for a collaboration with the Linden Community Center, which brings TCI Cheer Tumble sessions to those who may not be able to make it to our Polaris location.
The TCI cares initiative also works to provide mental health, financial literacy, educational support and community involvement opportunities. Our motto, “It’s Bigger Than Cheer” encompasses our belief that we are a family working together for a common cause: Our athletes!
