Camp Dates:

  • Camp Duration: 6 weeks, from June 30th - August 8th 2024

  • Weekly Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

  • Before Care Option: Available from 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM

Pricing:

  • Full Week Enrollment: $185 per week

  • Drop-in Rate: $45 per day (subject to availability)

  • Before Care: $5 per day (8:00 AM - 9:00 AM)

Camp Overview

The Recess All-Stars Summer Adventure Camp is an action-packed, fun-filled experience designed for youth grades 1-8. This 6-week program combines sports sampling with a strong focus on developing social and emotional learning (SEL) skills, allowing campers to build confidence, improve teamwork, and discover new passions. Whether your child is a sports enthusiast or trying out new activities for the first time, they’ll enjoy a summer full of adventure, growth, and play!

 

Throughout the camp, kids will engage in a wide variety of sports, including soccer, swimming basketball, volleyball, tennis, and flag football, while also developing important life skills such as emotional regulation, communication, and empathy.

**Sample Camp Schedule**

**Before Care (8:00 AM - 9:00 AM):** 

For families who need early drop-off, we offer a **Before Care** option from **8:00 AM to 9:00 AM**. Before Care provides a safe and supervised environment where kids can enjoy quiet activities, such as arts & crafts, games, and reading, before the official start of camp.

** $5 per day** 

8:00 AM - 8:30 AM: Arrival & Free Play / Social Time
8:30 AM - 9:00 AM: Warm-up & Light Stretching

-Fun games like tag or simple warm-up activities to get ready for the day.

Morning Session (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM)

  • 9:00 AM - 9:15 AM: Morning Circle / Camp Overview

    • Welcome campers, review the day’s schedule, and set intentions for the field trip.

  • 9:15 AM - 10:45 AM: Sports Activity #1

    • Focus on a specific sport or skill-building session that aligns with the field trip for the day (e.g., tennis drills before a tennis court field trip, soccer skills before attending a local soccer match).

  • 10:45 AM - 11:00 AM: Snack/Break

    • Healthy snacks and hydration.

  • 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Team Challenge or Warm-up Games

    • Engage in sports-based challenges that are related to the sport of the day, or practice teamwork through fun games like relay races or mini-tournaments.

Lunch Break (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM)

  • 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM: Lunch

    • Time for campers to eat, socialize, and relax.

  • 12:30 PM - 1:00 PM: Free Play or Prep for Field Trip

    • Campers can relax, engage in quiet activities, or get ready for the field trip.

Field Trip (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM)

  • 1:00 PM - 1:15 PM: Departure & Travel to Field Trip Destination

    • Campers board buses/vans or depart for the field trip location.

  • 1:15 PM - 3:00 PM: Field Trip

    • Field trips will vary daily:

      • Monday: Visit a local soccer field for a scrimmage or practice with coaches.

      • Tuesday: Skate Zone 71.

      • Wednesday: The Cheer Institute

      • Thursday: Go to a local swimming pool for water polo lessons or free swim time.

      • Friday: Explore a multi-sport facility (e.g., bowling, mini-golf, or a complex offering a range of sports activities).

After Field Trip (3:00 PM - 4:00 PM)

  • 3:00 PM - 3:15 PM: Return to Camp & Cool Down

    • Campers return to the camp site and have a brief cool-down session (stretching or light activity).

  • 3:15 PM - 3:45 PM: Reflection & Group Discussion

    • Campers reflect on their field trip experience and what they learned. Discuss what they saw, felt, or enjoyed. Share feedback about the trip and their favorite parts of the day.

  • 3:45 PM - 4:00 PM: Wrap-up / Free Time

    • The final moments of camp where kids can relax, play, or enjoy quiet activities before pick-up.

After Care (4:00 PM - 5:00 PM)

  • 4:00 PM - 4:30 PM: Fun, Relaxed Group Activities

    • Engage in low-energy games like board games, arts and crafts, or casual sports-based games.

  • 4:30 PM - 5:00 PM: Free Play / Relaxation

    • Time for campers to wind down with free play, individual activities, or catch-up time with friends.

Key Features of the 6-Week Camp

-Sports Sampling: Each week, campers will have the opportunity to try a different sport, from soccer and swimming to basketball, tennis and flag football. They’ll learn the basics of each sport, build key athletic skills, and gain confidence in a supportive, fun environment.

  1. What age group is Summer Recess AllStars Adventure Camp for?

    • Our camp is designed for children grades 1-8. We have different programs based on age to ensure a fun and age-appropriate experience for all campers.

  2. What are the camp hours?

    • Camp runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Extended care options are available for early drop-off and late pick-up for an additional fee.

  3. What activities are offered at camp?

    • Our camp includes a wide variety of activities such as outdoor adventures, sports, arts and crafts, nature hikes, team-building challenges, science experiments, and more! Every day brings new excitement.

  4. What should my child bring to camp?

    • Please send your child with:

      • Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing

      • A water bottle (we encourage hydration!)

      • Sunscreen (we recommend applying before arriving)

      • A hat and sunglasses for sun protection

      • A packed lunch 

      • Closed-toe shoes for outdoor activities

      • A backpack for personal belongings

  5. Is lunch provided, or should I pack one?

    • You should pack a lunch from home.

  6. What is the staff-to-camper ratio?

    • We maintain a low staff-to-camper ratio to ensure personalized attention and safety. Typically, it’s 1 staff member for every 6-8 campers.

  7. How do you ensure my child’s safety at camp?

    • The safety of your child is our top priority. Our staff is trained in first aid and CPR, and we conduct regular safety drills. All campers are closely supervised, and we provide clear instructions for every activity. We also have a strict sign-in/sign-out policy for drop-offs and pick-ups.

  8. Can my child be grouped with their friends?

    • We try to honor all requests to group campers with their friends, especially for younger children, but group assignments are based on age and activities to ensure everyone has a balanced and fun experience.

  9. What is your cancellation or refund policy?

    • We offer full refunds for cancellations made at least 14 days prior to the start of camp. Cancellations within 14 days may be subject to a partial refund. For more detailed information, please refer to our Terms & Conditions.

  10. Can my child attend for just a few days, or is it a full week commitment?

    • Our camp is designed for full-week participation, but we do offer day passes for a limited number of campers. Please inquire for availability.

  11. What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?

    • Camp will continue rain or shine! We have a variety of indoor activities planned for inclement weather, including arts & crafts, games, and movie time. However, outdoor adventures are only canceled for extreme weather conditions.

  12. How do I register my child for camp?

    • You can register online through our website or by calling our office. We recommend registering early as spaces fill up quickly.

  13. Is there an option for before and after care?

    • Yes, we offer extended care for an additional fee. Before care runs from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, and after care runs from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. These are perfect for parents who need flexible hours.

  14. What happens if my child needs medication during camp?

    • If your child needs to take medication during camp hours, please notify us in advance. We will ask for written instructions and will ensure the medication is administered as needed.

  15. Is there a Lost & Found?

    • Yes, we have a Lost & Found area at camp. We encourage labeling all personal items to reduce the chance of items getting lost. Unclaimed items are donated at the end of each session.

  16. How do I contact the camp if I have questions during the day?

    • You can reach the camp via phone or email. Our staff is available to provide updates or answer any questions.
